The results of any changes made are saved in the “Library” folder, so are available to other versions of Lightroom as well as other apps. The other new features in Express are the new Neural Filter, which removes all the marks, scratches, and blemishes on a photo. I tried the video example mentioned in the previous paragraph, and found the result surprisingly good. It’s not that the quality is amazing—I can just as easily find much worse examples of the same effect—but it’s pleasant to look at. The new Lens Correction and Repair filters let you correct issues such as dust, scratches, and dimples, but at the same time they use even more information in the context of the image, which makes the results more pleasing than applying the same techniques in isolation.
Underneath the hood, Photoshop for the web is powered by Adobe’s WebPagetext library, which extends Canvas.toBlob() for common image formats, and uses WebAssembly to enable our canvas renderer to run in your browser without needing a specific browser version.
