The following are general troubleshooting tips. Not all of these tips might apply, depending on the type of Adobe Photoshop you are using. Lightroom’s main purpose is for digital scrapbooking. I love organizing and archiving my digital photos and movies, but I do not work with print layout and design. I prefer to do this offline. Lightroom Elements makes it easy to create web galleries of your digital photos, for example. But I could never bring myself to use the program for this purpose.

Lightroom 5 does not provide any new Digital Slideshow templates. It still does not provide the ability to add intricate frames across movie clips. Incidentally, photo slideshows still use the same templates from the previous version. They are somewhat more tiling in Lightroom 5. To some, this may be considered a feature.

The newest home screen shows only one item at a time. You cannot select a template that could be viewed in multiple images (like a Photo Stamped Album or a Photo Gallery). You can, however, show a number of images in the same screen. Photos can be shown in a Slide Show or in a Slideshow. The Slideshow view shows bullets and prepares a Photo Gallery for you to add later. Slide Shows have three templates: 1,2, or 3 Thumbnail views. The first is the most basic. Next to it are the 2 and 3 Thumbnail views. Thumbnail view has one, two, or three images.

Photoshop Elements is an impressive photo-editing program with a full library of tools for both casual and professional artists. I think it’s a good fit for casual hobbyists, because it’s intuitive and easy to use, with controls that are flat, unobtrusive, and spacious.

Also, you can control the brightness, exposure, contrast, vibrancy, or saturation of the image as a whole. Another feature is the Auto-Contradiction, which lets you create a picture that has a kind of 3D look. This can be achieved by touching and dragging around the image to change the way the edges interact with the background. This feature is normally activated when using the Gradient Tool.

The Adjustment Layer options allow you to make one of six adjustments to the image. Firstly, you’ll find the Fill Adjustment Layer in which you can change the brightness, contrast, saturation, and opacity.

I have been a fan of Adobe Photoshop since the “early days” in 1995 and it was the tool that taught me how to edit my pictures. Photoshop has evolved over the years to become a revolutionary tool in the world of visual communications.
