In some of his speeches, Franco used expressions originally coined by Hitler. Despite the Franco regime victory, a quarter of Spanish Jews were forced to finance the war effort, and the war of imperial interests turned out to be a pro-German, anti-Catholic anti-Russian, anti-Communist victory against the left and fall of the Republic (1936-39).[204]
